I’ve come to a point in my life where I know that a change has to be made. Three years ago, I was in great shape and I was really happy with how my life was going. And then something changed. Maybe it was the recession, (my husband works in the automotive industry and we were hit hard) or maybe it was my sons diagnosis with Aspergers, but coping with just about everything became too difficult. Rather than exercising and eating right and I became apathetic.
Not anymore. It’s time to get my life back to what it should be – for me, for my husband and for my boys. So I’m starting over. I’m doing a mini version of P90X – Kenpo, Plyometrics, Legs and Arms.
The hardest thing to overcome will be my emotional eating habits. When things get rough, I become one with the refridgerator!
Wish me luck!

Welcome aboard! My husband was also in the automotive field – he quit and is now in nursing school. My youngest son has ADHD with some pretty bad tantrums we are trying to resolve behaviorally and medically. Sounds like we have a lot in common!
Getting up and just doing it each day is the key. If you miss a day, just pick up where you left off. It took me 120 days to do p90x the first time. Even now with school being back in session I’m struggling to find that right time to work out. Early morning is so hard for me but then the afternoons get away from me.
It’s nice to finally “meet” you. And yes, it does sound like we have a great deal in common!
So, do you work out in the morning? What time do you get up? How do you feel after a morning workout?
I think I know that morning is the right time to do it, but the idea of getting up at 5:30 to do P90X is dauting…. How long did it take you to get into the routine of consistently working out.
Sorry to bombard you with questions!!
Lordy no, I can’t get up at 5:30
I work out more like 7am. I struggle with morning workouts, I feel better after, but during is just tough for my body. I’m going to try it though and see! Maybe we’ll adjust
I’m so happy you’re part of our blog-team! YAY!!!! I do get up at 5:30 to work out, but I need a LOT of sleep, so I’m not going to kill myself. I’ll only take it out on the kids and the hubby if I get worn out. I go to bed at 9 so I can get enough sleep to get up early. I’m only going to make myself get up that early 2-3 days a week. The trick for me is getting workouts in on the weekends. And amy’s so right about it being ok to miss days. I might miss 4 days of workouts and I’ll just keep on track. It doesn’t matter if it takes you 9 months to get through p90x! It’s still a major accomplishment!!!
